Please select Monday 14 March 2022 in the calendar above to book your tickets

Take a walk through the community nursery where volunteers dedicate their time to grow local native plants for regenerative coastal community projects and species recovery.

Learn about some of the native plants being grown including the Drooping Sheoak which is being grown to provide feeding habitat to entice the endangered Kangaroo Island Glossy Black-Cockatoo back to the mainland. Once common on the Fleurieu Peninsula, the cockatoos are now found only on Kangaroo Island and were heavily impacted by the devastating 2019/2020 bushfires.

This is a working nursery, please wear appropriate enclosed footwear.

Cancellation Policy

If the Yankalilla Community Nursery is closed due to inclement weather this visit will be rescheduled.
