Our region was one of the earliest parts of the State to be surveyed and contains many buildings dating from those times that provide links back to the early period of settlement. The Heritage Fleurieu Coast Festival offers an ideal opportunity to give recognition to individuals who are making outstanding efforts to protect and conserve our built and natural heritage.
Examples of where people could be recognised for their efforts include ‘for the conservation of a building or place’, ‘sympathetic alterations and/or additions to a building’, ‘preservation of native vegetation via a Native Vegetation Heritage Agreement’ and ‘a significant contribution to the preservation of and advocacy for heritage within the Yankalilla region (through invaluable research, contribution to a local historical organisation or through ongoing volunteer work in the heritage sector’.
