Inman Valley is a quieter side of the Fleurieu Peninsula, where rolling hills, native bushland and open farmland create the setting for long lunches, local produce and slow weekends. Around 75 kilometres from Adelaide, it is an easy country escape within reach of the coast and nearby Victor Harbor.
Food and drink are part of the appeal. Settle in for a feed-me feast at Lost Phoenix Farm, meet the alpacas and take in the valley landscape, or head to Cut Hill Distillery for locally made whisky and a drink as the light fades across the hills.
For a longer stay, Nest and Nature offers eco-cabin accommodation among the trees, with a focus on quiet and connection to the surrounding landscape. Away from the farm and cellar door experiences, bush tracks, birdlife and old gums offer plenty of reasons to slow the pace and explore the valley on foot.
Inman Valley works well as a country detour on a Fleurieu road trip, particularly when exploring the wider area around Victor Harbor and the southern Fleurieu. It is less about ticking off a list of attractions and more about giving yourself time to enjoy the landscape, local food and rural character that make this part of South Australia distinct.
