The Salty Finn Sauna - Summer

The Salty Finn Sauna brings the Finnish sauna ritual to the Normanville Foreshore for the summer season. Handcrafted and heated by wood fire, South Australia's first mobile beach sauna sits just steps from the sand. Guests move between the deep warmth of the sauna and the calm, clear waters of Gulf St Vincent.

The experience is rooted in slow living, ritual and human connection. Guests settle into the soft heat of the fire and pour water over the hot stones to release a wave of steam. Then they wander down to the shoreline to cool off before returning to the warmth. This cycle of hot and cold has been at the heart of Finnish culture for centuries.

Each communal session welcomes a small group of up to six guests. A trained Sauna Host guides every session, shares the traditions of the ritual and makes first-timers feel at ease. Private bookings are also available for friends, families, celebrations and small groups.

Normanville's west-facing beach is known for long summer evenings and golden sunsets over the gulf, so late-day sessions are a highlight of the season. The foreshore is an easy drive south of Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
